According to an article in the New York Daily News, "Author begs to sell book", writer Jonathan Safran Foer partook in some classic Blatant Self Promotion. And it got him bumped from No. 15 to 13 on The New York Times bestseller list.
In an effort to boost sales after garnering unfavorable reviews, Foer emailed his friends urging them to buy his book and to suggest the same to their friends. It's not an unusual favor for authors to request, but the New York City tabloid reported it as news.
The additional exposure in the Daily News means certain sales for Foer's book. Good for him. Lucky b....
