An unpublished short story written by playwright Eugene O'Neill has been found by a literature professor at Central Connecticut State University. The piece's existence was known by very few people, and was assumed permanently lost.
The New Yorker and Atlantic Monthly — perhaps the two leading literary magazines in the U.S. — are reported to be bidding on first publishing rights for the story.
