The crossword puzzle in the December 10 issue of New York magazine is themed around famous photographers, mostly old ones. (None older than 150 years, though. Ha ha.)
I don't know most of them. I got "Ansel Adams" and "Eisenstadt," though I initially spelled the latter incorrectly (because, in a "duh" moment, I'd previously erred on the spelling of "arable" in the cross-word). But that's it. There are still about eight or so photographers' names in the puzzle that I'm missing.
I should know these, because in college I took a "History of Photography" course. Oh, well. Good use of tuition money.
Besides, my favorite photographers are my dad, my uncle and a couple of friends. So why aren't their names in the puzzle?
