Funny (I Hope) Valentine

This morning a humor piece of mine was published by MensHealth.com (the site for Men's Health magazine).

"My Cyber Valentine" spoofs the Internet dating scene (if there is such a thing) by placing a fictitious (I swear) first-person character in the position of bringing a woman on an on-line Valentine’s Day date to a variety of websites.

The publication term is for one week, so get there quick. :-)

Sign of the Times

Journalism website Poynter.org has run a story about Gary Hershorn, a picture editor for Reuters. Last Sunday his responsibility was editing Super Bowl photos. And for the first time ever, he did it from home.

Modern photo technology has brought us to the point where an editor can be thousands of miles away from an event and still be able to sort through images that were made just seconds before — directly from camera to server to laptop.

See "Super Bowl XLI Coverage: A New Era With All the Comforts of Home."

Potter Pub Date

For the three people on the planet who haven't already heard today, the publication date for the final Harry Potter book has been announced. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be on — and quickly off — bookstore shelves July 21.
